“ I'm not sure if I've ever eaten here and so I can't say much about the food. I do think they have a good selection of German beers. Some staples that next change and some rotating ones for the seasons. When the weather is nice, the outdoor seating is very enjoyable. They don't have TVs for sports but do have a giant projector for big games. Service can be spotty depending on how busy it is but all in all a solid spot to grab a nice German beer and relax. ”
“ DSK is a great go to for Pretzels and Beers. The sister restaurant to our local Hasenstuble, DSK is much bigger. They have a full draft selection, sausages for carnivores and vegans alike. The vibes are good, and it's a great place for groups. The bar is well-lit and there is a foosball table. Seating is mostly picnic tables and some window seats. Our toddler loves it and can slip under the radar as it's pretty lively inside. ”
“ This spot & Radegast Beer Hall are my top spots in NYC for traditional German-style "pils". Only - Radegast pretty much always has the same taps, & here & DSK, they are rotating, so you get to try different & obscure ones that are unlikely to be available anywhere else in the city. AND - they are very fresh, & all have their own special glasses. For this alone - an easy 5 stars. If they were open for lunch, I wld be here much more often, but they don't open until 3pm during the week. The food is VERY traditional German style - which means it's not good lol. Brown sauce w no flavor. It really does taste like food in Germany tho - they are nailing it (!). There are tons of good places to eat around here tho, so I wld just enjoy their incredible & amazing rotating traditional German tap selections & maybe a pretzel, & then eat somewhere close by. Very friendly, helpful, & courteous staff. Also - the music cld be better - no one at mid-day wants to hear house music ! ”
“ DSK Brooklyn is still such a great place for a beer and - even better -a small or even medium get-together with friends or colleagues. We gathered to celebrate a colleague's many years of hard work and inspiration, and the vibe at DSK was perfect: they had a gorgeous, huge table for us reserved by the window. I'd emailed the bar in the morning and the owner herself wrote me back right away. Service is so friendly and welcoming, the owner is super cool, the beer selection is great, the snacks and other food we ordered exuberantly devoured by all with gusto! Can't wait to come back. Highly recommend the giant pretzels, the beer, the sausages.... Cool side note: this is a business that took care of its long-term staff and kept them fed and paid during the hard pandemic years. A true part of the community and deserving of our thanks and support. ”
“ Favorite German place in NYC! Great beer selection, good food (not a gourmet restaurant but solid simple fare), an owner who's often present looking after his business and just an awfully nice place to sit outside for a few pints! ”
“ 1/1 Ambience; 1.5/2 Food; 1/1 Service; 0.5/1 Value The restaurant is nice and spacious and has a fun atmosphere for hanging out with friends and grabbing drinks. The offerings are traditional German foods and beers, although the menu is extensive with many non-alcoholic offerings. The service was very fast and efficient. We were famished and ended up ordering a ton of food: the pretzel with obadza, the spaetzle, the kartoffelsalat, fries, various wurst with cabbage and sauerkraut, and German soft drinks. The pretzel and obadza was the standout, and everything was mostly great. I opted for the vegan smoked apple and sage wurst, but it was a bit bland. My friends got the classic bratwurst and they really enjoyed theirs. Given the portion sizes, some items run on the pricier side. However, we absolutely devoured the food and ended up in a food coma, which probably suggests it's worth returning to. ”
“ I came here for Tuesday night trivia. It was pretty packed. Trivia was supposed to start at 7pm but I showed up late closer to 7:20 and it was just getting started. We initially sat at the bar, but eventually got a long table with benches which we split with another party. One side of the table was a little too close to the wall so you had to sit very forward to avoid bumping your head on the ledge, which was a little uncomfortable. Trivia was fun. You play on your phone and submit answers online so make sure to come with a fully charged device. The app shows you the leaderboard and what percentage of teams got each question right so it's quite interactive. The game was five or six rounds, each with a different theme. There was general knowledge, movies, tv shows, music, etc. It leaned a little heavily towards knowing actor and celebrity names and characters. The host was super high energy and friendly. He walked around and chatted with the various teams to hype everyone up. The music played in between questions was also fun and dancey. To drink, I had a glass of their rose. It was $12 and served in a tall glass. I didn't eat, but my friends seemed to enjoy the food. ”
“ The beers are very big, the food is not. A Wurst is like a small plate. The entree Spätzle is okay for a meal if you also drink an entire beer (they'll make it without bacon on request!). It's very tasty, the onions are well caramelized. I would recommend drinking here after you've already eaten a bit somewhere else. Trivia Wednesday! Outdoor seating! ”
